About JEE Advanced:-What used to be the IIT-JEE for admission to the premier Engineering institutes, not only of the country but also of the world, is now termed as the JEE (Advanced) Test. The test remains the same as before apart from the slight change in name.

JEE Advanced Pattern:-
- The papers checkâ€™s the Comprehension, Reasoning and Analytical Skills of the candidate.
- Subjects include :- Physics, Chemistry, Maths
- Question Paper will be prepared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
Schedule Of Jee (Advanced) 2016:
The examination consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, each of 3 hours duration and will be held as per the following schedule:
Day & Date – Sunday, May 22, 2016
Paper 1 09:00 to 12:00 IST
Paper 2 14:00 to 17:00 IST
Both the papers are compulsory.
Eligibility Criteria for Appearing In JEE (Advanced) 2016:
A candidate, including a foreign national, must fulfil each and every one of the following five criteria to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2016.
Criterion 1 â€“Performance in JEE (Main) 2016:
The candidate should be among the top 1, 50,000 (all categories included) in JEE (Main) 2016.
Criterion 2 â€“Age limit:
The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1990 if belonging to the GEN or OBC-NCL category and on or after October 1, 1985 if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.
Criterion 3 â€“Number of attempts:
A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years. Therefore, JEE (Advanced) 2016 should be either the candidateâ€™s FIRST attempt OR the SECOND consecutive attempt.
Criterion 4â€“Appearance in Class XII(or equivalent) examination:
The candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in all the subjects in either 2015 or 2016.
Candidates who appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2015 and wish to re-appear for the same in 2016 (either for improvement or because they failed in one or more subjects), will have to re-appear in all the subjects in 2016.
Those who appeared for the first time in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2014 or earlier are NOT eligible. However, candidates whose Class XII (or equivalent) examination Board results for the academic year 2013-14 were declared after June 2014 are eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2016.
Criterion 5â€“Earlier admission at IITs/ISM:
The candidate should NOT have taken admission (irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program) OR even accepted admission by paying admission fee at any of the IITs or ISM in the past; even candidates whose admission was cancelled are NOT eligible. However, candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs in 2015 can appear for JEE (Advanced) 2016.
