Expected JoSAA Cutoff 2025

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) releases opening and closing ranks for each round of the counselling process. These ranks are used to draw the cutoff that decides eligibility to get admission in different engineering courses in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Once the JEE Main 2025 results are out, JoSAA will release the institute-wise cutoffs for all the participating institutes.

How to Check JoSAA Cutoffs:

Follow these steps to find the official JoSAA cutoffs:

  1. Visit the Official website: Log in: josaa.nic.in.
  2. Get eServices: Log on to the website and click on eServices, followed by OR-CR (Opening Rank – Closing Rank).
  3. Choose your preferences: Choose the round, type of institute, institute name, branch/program, and seat type/category.
  4. Submit and view: Click on “Submit,” and the opening and closing ranks will be shown on your screen.

Expected Cutoffs:

  • IITs: For IITs, the opening and closing ranks will vary as per the course and category. For instance, in 2024, the closing rank for Computer Science at IIT Bombay was 68.
  • NITs: All NITs have different cutoffs, and you need to check for the particular NIT and course you are interested in. For example, closing ranks for NIT Durgapur in B.Tech were 7361 in 2024. in Computer Science, 11537 for B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication, and 23970 in B.Tech. in Civil Engineering.
  • IIITs: IIITs also have varying cutoff ranges, and you should check the institute selection and the course. The IIITs have a closing rank around 100000-150000 for General candidates.

Factors Affecting Cutoffs:

  • JEE Main Score: The higher the score, the higher the chances of getting a better seat.
  • Category: The cutoffs vary and also depend on the categories, such as General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and EWS.
  • Institute & Program Preference: High cutoffs will be there for the top institutes.
