(CBSE) has announced a new change for Class 10 students starting from the 2026 academic session. Students will now be allowed to appear for their board exams twice a year. The first exam will be compulsory for all and will be held in mid-February, while the second exam will be optional for those who want to improve their performance and will be conducted in May. CBSE will consider the better score of the two for the final result.

According to the Board, this step is part of its larger plan to make board exams more student-friendly and less stressful. By giving students a second chance, CBSE aims to reduce the pressure of one-time, high-stakes exams and make the evaluation process more flexible and fair.

CBSE Board Exam 2026 is to be Held Twice a Year!

As part of the ongoing reforms under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced significant changes to the Class 10 board examination system.
