That is, Sl No. (3) to (10) in the above table are not applicable for such OCI\/PIO (I) candidates, and these candidates are required to be in the rank list in Sl. No. 1 and\/or 2 in the above table.<\/p>\n<h4>Criteria 2: JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria- <a href=\"https:\/\/motion.ac.in\/blog\/age-limit-for-jee-advanced\/\">Age Limit For JEE Advanced<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2001. Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, ie, these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1996.<\/p>\n<h4>Criteria 3: JEE Advanced Eligibility criteria- <a href=\"https:\/\/motion.ac.in\/blog\/how-many-attempts-for-jee-advanced\/\">JEE Advanced Number of Attempts Limit<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of\u00a0two times in two consecutive years.<\/p>\n<h4>Criteria 4: JEE Advanced 2026 Eligibility Criteria- Appearance in 12th (or equivalent) Examination<\/h4>\n<p>As per the JEE Advanced eligibility criteria, candidates must have appeared for their Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time <u class=\"aid\">(<a href=\"http:\/\/idioms.in\/race-against-time\/#\">race against time phrase meaning<\/a>)<\/u> in 2025 or 2026 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. This is a key requirement for the Eligibility for JEE Advanced.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is NOT eligible?<\/strong><br \/>\nCandidates who appeared for their Class XII exams in <strong>2024 or earlier<\/strong> are <strong>not eligible<\/strong> to sit for the <strong>JEE Advanced 2026 exam<\/strong>, regardless of the subjects taken.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important Note:<\/strong><br \/>\nA student is considered to have <strong data-start=\"101\" data-end=\"125\">appeared in Class 12<\/strong> once the education board officially declares the result for that year, even if the student\u2019s individual result is withheld. However, there is a special condition for <strong data-start=\"292\" data-end=\"325\">JEE Advanced 2026 eligibility<\/strong>. If a board announced the <strong data-start=\"352\" data-end=\"427\">Class 12 results for the 2023\u201324 academic year on or after 18 June 2024<\/strong>, then students who appeared for Class 12 in <strong data-start=\"472\" data-end=\"480\">2024<\/strong> from that board are <strong data-start=\"501\" data-end=\"535\">eligible for JEE Advanced 2026<\/strong>, provided they meet all other rules. But if the board had declared the results <strong data-start=\"615\" data-end=\"638\">before 18 June 2024<\/strong>, and a student\u2019s result was withheld for any reason, then that student would <strong data-start=\"715\" data-end=\"734\">not be eligible<\/strong> for JEE Advanced 2026.<\/p>\n<h4>Criteria 5: JEE Advanced 2026 Eligibility Criteria- Earlier Admission to the IITs<\/h4>\n<p>A candidate should NOT have been admitted to an IIT irrespective of whether or not the candidate continued in the program OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting \u201conline\u201d \/ at a \u201creporting centre\u201d in the past. Candidates whose admission to IITs was cancelled (for whatever reason) after joining any IIT are also NOT eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the first time in 2025 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2026. The candidates who were allocated a seat in an IIT through JoSAA 2025, but:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>did not report \u201conline\u201d \/ at any \u201creporting centre\u201d OR,<\/li>\n<li>withdrew before the last round of seat allotment, OR,<\/li>\n<li>had their seat cancelled (for whatever reason) before the last round of seat allotment for IITs, are eligible to appear for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/motion.ac.in\/jee-advanced-exam\/\">JEE Advanced 2026<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, in all of the above cases, the candidate is also required to fulfill the conditions mentioned from <strong>Criterion A1<\/strong> to <strong>Criterion A4<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4>The following qualifying examinations will be considered equivalent to 12th standard:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by a Central or State Board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).<\/li>\n<li>Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a Board or University recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.<\/li>\n<li>Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.<\/li>\n<li>Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.<\/li>\n<li>Any Public School, Board or University examination in India or a foreign country is recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the AIU.<\/li>\n<li>H.S.C. vocational examination.<\/li>\n<li>A diploma recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or a State Board of Technical Education of at least 3 years duration.<\/li>\n<li>General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination (London, Cambridge or Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.<\/li>\n<li>High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>JEE Advanced Eligibility Marks in 12th Standard<\/h3>\n<p>To secure admission into IITs, candidates must meet the <strong>JEE Advanced eligibility criteria<\/strong> set for 2026. Understanding the <strong>Eligibility for JEE Advanced<\/strong> is crucial to know how many marks you need to obtain in your <strong>Class 12 exam<\/strong>. Here are the key details:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>JEE Advanced eligibility marks<\/strong> require a minimum <strong>75% in the 12th standard<\/strong> for <strong>General and OBC candidates<\/strong>. For <strong>SC\/ST candidates<\/strong>, a minimum of <strong>65%<\/strong> is required.<\/li>\n<li>The candidates should be within the top 20 category percentile of the qualifying examination.<\/li>\n<li>In calculating the aggregate marks, candidates should include the scores of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Language, and one additional subject of their choice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Process of Total Marks Calculation for 12th (or equivalent) Examination<\/h3>\n<p>To calculate the <strong>JEE Advanced qualifying marks<\/strong>, the aggregate scores of <strong>Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Language<\/strong>, and one other subject will be considered. Here\u2019s how the total marks are determined:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Scaling Marks<\/strong>: If a subject&#8217;s marks are not out of 100, they will be scaled up or down to be out of 100, ensuring the <strong>total aggregate marks<\/strong> are out of 500.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Grades to Percentage Conversion<\/strong>: For boards that use letter grades instead of numerical marks, candidates must obtain a certificate from their board specifying the equivalent marks. This certificate must be submitted during the seat allocation process. If not provided, the <strong>Joint <\/strong><strong>Implementation Committee<\/strong> will make the final decision.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Subjects Not Evaluated in the Final Year<\/strong>: If Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Language subjects are not evaluated in the final year, marks from previous years will be used for calculating the JEE Advanced eligibility marks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Best of Two Performances:<\/strong> Candidates who appeared for their Class 12 exams for the first time in 2025 and reappeared in 2026 can have the best of their two performances considered.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Board-Specific Marks Calculation<\/strong>:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>If your board calculates aggregate marks based on both 11th and 12th grades, only the 12th-grade marks will be considered for JEE Advanced 2026.<\/li>\n<li>For 3-year diplomas or equivalent courses, only the final-year marks will be counted.<\/li>\n<li>Boards following a semester system will use the marks from the last two semesters.<\/li>\n<li>If your board only provides an overall aggregate without individual subject scores, then the aggregate marks given by the board will be taken as is.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By meeting these <strong>JEE Advanced eligibility criteria<\/strong>, candidates can ensure they are fully prepared for the <strong>JEE Advanced 2026 exam<\/strong>. It&#8217;s important to aim for the required <strong>JEE Advanced qualifying marks<\/strong> to maximize your chances of securing a spot in the IITs.<\/p>\n<h3>JEE Advanced 2026 Eligibility for Foreign Students<\/h3>\n<p>The application process for JEE Advanced 2026 will open to all Indian citizens. Additionally, international candidates, who make up less than 10% of the SNQ, are also eligible. Candidates need to have completed their Class 12 exams during the academic year 2026-2027.<\/p>\n<h3>Factors that determine the cutoff of JEE Advanced<\/h3>\n<p>Here are various factors that determine the JEE Advanced cutoff 2026:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous year\u2019s cutoff trends<\/li>\n<li>The total number of applicants of JEE Advanced<\/li>\n<li>The difficulty level of the exam<\/li>\n<li>Candidates\u2019 performance in the JEE Advanced 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Eligibility Criteria for Cutoff of JEE Advanced 2026<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Category wise cutoff marks of JEE Advanced for the top 20 percentile are calculated based on the marks scored by the candidates who pass in their respective boards in the particular year.<\/li>\n<li>JEE Advanced cutoff marks for PwD candidates will be the same as the lowest of the cutoff marks for other categories.<\/li>\n<li>Top 20 percentile cutoff for the academic year 2026 will be considered for those candidates who passed the 12th standard (or equivalent) examination in the same year. Similarly, the cutoff of 2025 will be taken for candidates who qualified the exam in the academic year 2026.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates who appeared for the qualifying exam for the first time in 2025 and wish to reappear in 2026 for the objective of qualifying for the top 20 percentile cutoff will have to reattempt all of the subjects. The top 20 percentile cutoff of 2025 will be considered for such candidates.<\/li>\n<li>In case a Board does not provide information about the top 20 percentile cutoff, the candidates will have to produce a certificate from the respective board stating that he\/she falls within the top 20 percentile of successful candidates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>JEE Advanced Past Year&#8217;s Cut-Off (Qualifying)<\/h2>\n<p>Candidates can check the previous year cutoff to predict the expected JEE Advanced qualifying percentile in 2026.
