Every year, more than 20 lakh candidates appear for the NEET exam, and the number keeps increasing. This year, NTA has introduced a few important updates in the NEET application process that students should know about before filling out the form.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Live Photograph at the Time of Registration:<\/strong> Instead of uploading an existing photo, candidates must now take a real-time photograph while completing the NEET application. The image should be captured in a well-lit setting with a light background. NTA will cross-check this photo with Aadhaar records. If the details do not match, students will be asked to submit an identity certificate with a recent photo, verified and signed by their school or college authority.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mandatory Aadhaar Authentication for Identity Check:<\/strong> To strengthen identity verification, NTA has made Aadhaar-based registration the preferred option. Candidates using Aadhaar will go through direct authentication, while those applying with other ID proofs will need to provide extra supporting documents. Students are advised to check that their Aadhaar information is accurate and updated to avoid issues during registration.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Choosing Exam Cities Carefully: <\/strong> NEET 2026 will be conducted in 566 cities across India. Candidates have to select three exam city options based on their present and permanent address.
