NTA has begun the JEE Mains 2026 session 1 registration process from 31 October 2025 to 27 November 2025 at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Main, will comprise two papers. Paper 1 will be conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B.Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. JEE (Main) is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. Paper 2 will be conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the Country.

JEE Main 2026 Registration
- Candidates can apply for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 through “Online” mode.
- The fees (as applicable) can be paid online through credit/debit card/net banking/UPI/Paytm wallet.
- The application window for Session 1 will be opened as per the details available in the Information Bulletin. Candidates can submit only one Application Form for each session. Multiple application forms submitted by a candidate for the same session will not be accepted.
- Also, Candidates should fill in the Application Form very carefully. No corrections will be permitted once the Application Form is submitted.
JEE Main 2026 Exam – NTA Revised Eligibility Criteria
Out of all students, the top 2,50,000 candidates will be eligible for attempting JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Mains. The number of attempts has also been reduced students can attempt the exam twice in two consecutive years. The students attempting JEE Mains should have given the class 12 exam in 2024 or 2025 with PCM.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Timing (Day Schedule)
The NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2026 exam in two shifts. Shift 1 will run from 9 AM to 12 PM, while Shift 2 will be from 3 PM to 6 PM. Candidates can check the table for detailed information on the exam timings.

JEE Main Exam Duration 2026
The NTA will administer the JEE Main 2026 exam in two shifts each day, with each shift lasting 3 hours. Students taking both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be allotted a total of 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete their tests.
