JEE aspirants can follow these simple steps to download the JEE Main official answer key 2026:
- Visit the official website of the NTA. Click on: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/.
- There will be a link to check the JEE Main answer key for January 2026. Once the second session is also over, there will be a link for the JEE Main answer key 2026 April.
- Website visitors will be redirected to the login portal of the JEE Main official answer key 2026.
- Log in using the candidate’s JEE Main application number and date of birth.
- Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- NTA JEE Main 2026 answer key will be displayed on the screen.

How to Challenge the JEE Main 2026 Answer Key?
Once the candidate downloads the provisional answer key of JEE Main 2026, they can check and evaluate their performance in the exam. After completing the downloading of the NTA JEE Main answer key, JEE applicants can raise objections against the answers provided in the released answer key. There is a fee of 200 INR for each question. Also, the raiser must mention the question ID, the answer provided and the correct answer according to the applicant, along with the explanation in support of the correct response. Follow the steps given below to object to the provisional answer key:
- If any candidate is not satisfied with the response provided in the official answer key of JEE Main 2026, they can raise objections by visiting https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/, which is the official website.
- Click on the link to challenge the response provided to the question.
- Log in using the candidate’s JEE Main application number and password.
- Note the question ID and the correct answer ID of both papers.
- If the candidate finds more than one option correct, note the ID of both answers.
- Save the claim and upload the document in favour of your claim by clicking on the ‘Choose File’ option.
- Do the payment of 200 INR for each question. If the claim is correct, the amount is refunded by the authority.
After the authorities evaluate all challenges raised, the final answer key of JEE Main 2026 is released, based on which JEE Main applicants’ marks are calculated, and the rank list is disclosed.

JEE Main 2025 Paper 1 Shift 1 was conducted on January 22, 2025, the first day of the JEE Main 2025 exam. JEE applicants were supposed to complete the exam from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. According to the applicants, the overall difficulty level of the paper was moderately difficult. On day 1 of JEE Main 2025, students appeared for the B.Tech paper. From January 25 onwards, BE/BTech candidates will appear for JEE Main 2025 exam.
Maths: The morning shift paper had lengthy calculations but was of moderate difficulty. It included 35% of questions from Calculus, 9% from Coordinate Geometry, 6% from Statistics and Relations, and 3% from 3D Geometry and Vectors.
The evening shift paper was comparatively more challenging and time-consuming. Students found it lengthier to solve. The distribution of questions was as follows: 35% from Calculus, 32% from Algebra, 10% from Coordinate Geometry, 9% from Statistics and Relations, 9% from 3D Geometry and Vectors, and 5% from Trigonometry.
Physics: In the morning shift paper, one question was asked from each of the following topics: Units and Dimensions, Basic Mathematics and Vectors, Kinematics, Work, Power, and Energy, Capacitance, Sound Waves, Electromagnetic Waves and Wave Optics, Modern Physics, Fluid Mechanics, Errors in Measurements and Instruments, and Semiconductors. Additionally, two questions were asked from Rotational Dynamics, while three questions each were asked from Electricity, Heat and Thermodynamics, Geometrical Optics, Electrostatics, and Current Electricity.
The evening shift paper was comparatively easier than the morning shift. It included three questions each from Work, Energy, and Power; Elasticity; Heat and Thermodynamics; Electromagnetic Waves; and Optics. Two questions were asked from Modern Physics, along with one question from each of the remaining topics.
Chemistry: The Chemistry paper in the morning shift was easy, with 30% of the questions coming from Inorganic Chemistry and 35% each from Organic and Physical Chemistry. The paper also included statement-based and matching-list questions within the single-option format.
Similarly, the evening shift paper was easy and covered questions from all topics. However, most questions were statement-based, and Organic Chemistry carried a higher weightage in this shift.
