JEE Main Maths Syllabus 2026: The JEE Main math syllabus is announced each year by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The Mathematics syllabus of JEE Main is developed from the NCERT Class 11 and Class 12 textbooks, which means that all students anywhere in the country are taught these topics, leading to uniformity across the nation. Has the JEE Main 2026 Mathematics Syllabus Been Reduced?

Candidates have not received any new official update from NTA about the JEE Main 2026 Maths syllabus. The syllabus was reduced only in the year 2024. It has been the same syllabus since then. Q: How many chapters are there in the JEE Main syllabus?

The JEE Main syllabus includes chapters from all three subjects. Physics has nearly 20 chapters, Chemistry also has about 20, and the JEE Main maths syllabus has around 28 to 30 chapters. Altogether, the total comes to roughly 68 to 70 chapters across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Q: What is the chapter weightage of Class 11 and Class 12 in the JEE Main syllabus?

The division is not hard and fast, but in general, those from Class 12 have more weightage. Almost about 55–60% of the questions are from Class 12, and the remaining 40–45% are covered from the Class 11 portion of the JEE Main syllabus.

Q: Is the JEE Main syllabus the same as JEE Advanced?

The syllabus of JEE Main and JEE Advanced are not completely identical. Both are out of the NCERT classes 11 and 12, but JEE Advanced is more detailed, and it has some additional topics as well. For instance, chapters of Thermal Physics and some units of Electrochemistry are there in JEE Advanced, and are not included in JEE Main.
