NTA Clarifies: No On-Screen Calculator for JEE Main 2026

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released a public notice on November 2, 2026, to clear up confusion regarding the use of an on-screen calculator in JEE Main 2026. The notice clearly states that no calculator—physical or on-screen—will be allowed during the exam.

Earlier, on October 31, NTA had uploaded the JEE Main 2026 Information Brochure, which mistakenly mentioned the availability of an on-screen calculator and accessibility mode for candidates. NTA has now explained that this was a printing error, as the mentioned feature is part of the general test platform and not applicable to JEE Main 2026.

No Calculator Permitted in JEE Main 2026

As per the latest public notice, the use of calculators in any form is strictly prohibited in the JEE Main 2026 exam. Candidates will have to do all calculations manually during the test.

NTA has released a revised Information Bulletin on its official website (idioms website) and has advised all applicants to download and refer to the updated version for correct details. The agency has also apologized for the confusion caused by the earlier version and any inconvenience faced by the candidates.
