Centre planning fixed calendar for JEE, NEET, and CUET from 2023

From 2023, the government is planning to make a fixed calendar for India’s largest entrance exams – Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), and Common University Entrance Test (CUET). As per the reports, the Ministry of Education is likely to announce the plan for the fixed calendar this week to streamline the process and avoid any kind of perplexities.

It is expected that the National Testing Agency would be releasing the JEE main 2023 notification with JEE main 2023 exam dates and registration dates by this week itself.

As per the statement given by one of the NTA officials JEE main 2023 exams are expected to take (take with a grain of salt idiom synonym) place in mid-January and April, CUET UG 2023 is expected to be conducted in April third week and May first week, whereas NEET UG 2023 is expected in May. The students requested the authorities to conduct the entrance exams in April as it becomes challenging for the droppers to prepare for the exam because they are not left with enough time (race against time phrase meaning) for preparation. The official stated that it would be difficult to fulfill the demand of the students as it would lead to a delay in the commencement of the next academic year. The aspirants wanted the JEE main 2023 should be conducted in the month of April or May.

As per the reports in November the NTA formed two expert committees after the completion of the 2022 exams. The decision of forming the committees was opted for due to the technical difficulties that occurred in the 2022 exams.
One committee is working on the annual schedule of JEE main, CUET, and NEET. The agenda is to avoid date clashes. The other committee is focused on reviewing the infrastructure of examination centers. Experts from the Indian Institution of Technology (IITs), central universities, and other officials who have experience in conducting exams are included in the panels.
