NEET 2026 Exam: Check Tie-Breaking Criteria

In order to resolve the conflict between two candidates having the same percentile scores/marks, NTA  issued tie-breaking criteria. The preferences will be given on the basis of the points listed below. Let’s have a look.

  • The candidate having the highest score in Biology would be given first preference
  • In the next steps, candidates with the highest scores in chemistry would be given preference
  • If the tie still continuous the number of marks obtained in physics will be considered, and those candidates will be given the first preference accordingly
  • On the NEET 2026 merit list, candidates getting a lesser portion of correct and incorrect answers in biology will be given a higher rank.
  • Following the same pattern, the second preference will be given to the candidates with their marks secured in chemistry.
  • If the tide still exists, candidates getting a lesser proportion of correct and incorrect answers in physics will obtain higher ranks.
  • Candidates of an older age would be given a higher preference
  • The last preference would be given to the candidates’ application numbers in ascending order

How to Calculate Score From NEET 2026 Answer Key?
